The all-new C8 Corvette Stingray, unveiled in California on July 18, 2019, has shocked the entire automotive world! It’s a game-changer that already has hearts racing across Canada.
Power and Speed
Going toe-to-toe with some of the hottest performance cars in Europe, the V-8 mid-engine Chevy is debuting as a Stingray, a legendary name with car buffs. Rumoured to start with up to 500 horsepower, Chevrolet says that it will go from 0-95km/h in a scorching time of under 3 seconds if optioned with the optional Z51 package.
What the Vents are For
What’s under the skin of this Corvette matters just as much as what you can see. For example, its instantly recognizable side vents are very much functional, directing exhaust air out through rear vents. The engine also has vents on either side of the roof allowing hot air to escape when the vehicle is idling.
While the mid-engine design of the Corvette gives it instant star power, it has a purpose. The placement of the engine results in the car having greater balance when carving through turns. The vehicle is designed to literally rotate around the driver as it turns.
